Philm… Man, what is there to say about this highly energetic and compelling act comprised of Gerry Nestler, Pancho Tomaselli (Ex-War) and The rambuxious Dave Lombardo. This is my third time covering this act this year alone and i’m going to tell you right now, it wasn’t my favorite. Why? it wasn’t the acts involved or the people. It was the venue. Mercury Lounge was flooded with fans of both Philm and Chris Wyse’s (EX member of The Cult) project “Owl.” The dynamic duo of acts provided a claustrophobic nightmare to journalists and photographers. Throw in the Philm being filmed with stationary cameras and you have a perfect example of a man who did not enjoy shooting in the venue. I won’t stop covering PHILM, no way, no how cause I love the band and the refreshing music they create. But I will however, stop entering Mercury Lounge. Do yourself a favor, check out OWL and PHILM. And hope for your sake, they do another show together again cause this was a sleeper hit in my book. Check out the photos below of both acts.
